01.Bake Sale
Will anyone be prepared for a bake sale on March 22nd? If not, do you want to move it to the 29th? We will need bake sales (of course), a money box (Greg?) and some cash float (I can get that on Tuesday, but I doubt on the 22nd). Objections to moving it to the 29th? We could have time to design posters.
02.Journalism Gala
Kim and I, including everyone involved will be getting everything in gear for the Gala. I will be preparing a letter to hand to those we wish to invite for the gala event. We will get our tickets prepared as well as preparations for the presentation. By the 29th, we’ll have an idea of who we are going to have for public speakers. Communicate on this, we need to have a great gala!
03.Field Trip
Originally, the Hour gave us a date of April 1st. Way too early and the teachers turned it down. Pretty sure I mentioned this. Tomorrow I will be contacting the bus service to see how much that will cost and adding cost of meal after the Hour. Jeff at the Hour suggested I contact him in April so they can prepare the date around the Stanley Cup playoffs. We are likely going to do this in late April/early May when we won’t have any school in the way.
04.Website
http://www.stclaircollege.ca/convergence Been there yet? Register your account. We can talk about the Gala and more on the website. This is a great way to keep communication. I mentioned this in the last e-mail. The Discussion board comes up after you’ve registered, logged in and under the Main Menu. I’m going to speaking to AssKicking Solutions about moving the website there, so we have our own space to upload podcasts and host everything on our very own server. Instead of mine.
05.President out
On Monday, March 29th I will not be at the school. There’s a slim possibility but I doubt it. I’ll be in Kingston on that weekend and I do not believe we’ll be driving back until Monday morning. It’s an eight hour drive so I can’t see me making it by the afternoon. I’m hoping to get back before class at 4PM. I leave duties at that meeting to Kim Dunwoody and if Kate Redmile can make it, Kate as well. Usual procedure applies, including writing down the minutes.
06.Stretch Run
We’re at the stretch run of the program. Around a month left of school. Do not fall behind. This is the best time to talk to Veronique, Sarah, Karen and your teachers and find out what assignments you missed and see if you can get them done. Late marks are better than no marks. I’m writing this because to be honest, I’m a culprit of this as well. Finish the semester out strong!
This is being posted both on the website and to your e-mails. I’ll see everyone on Monday!
